The most beautiful woman in the world, Zac Efron, asks Claire Danes" Whats it like to be a beautiful woman?" And so begins "Me and Orson Welles."An 18 year old high schooler, Efron, gets cast in a 21 year old boy-genius director's play "Caesar" who happens to be Orson Welles, played by some dude I've never heard of. We experience the boy-genius from the eyes of the non-boy genius. Orson puts on a modern take of "Caesar" that brings him accolades.
The scenes from Caeasar are the highlight of the movie (except the play's diva character. She's underplayed hysterically. I laughed without laughing.). You kind of feel like you're really there as these scenes play out. And then the most beautiful woman in the world sings while playing a guitar or lute or banjo. Orson fires him after the show.
The whole film is sepia, drenched in period costumes and playing at The Enzian all weekend.
